Bramson, Leon

Bramson, Leon
(1869-1941)
   Russian communal worker and writer. He was born in Kovno. He was active in the Society for the Dissemination of Enlightenment Among the Jews, and served as director of the Jewish Colonization Association from 1899 to 1906. During World War I, the Russian Revolution and the Civil War, he was an organizer of the Central Committee for the Relief of Jewish War Sufferers. When he left Russia in 1920 he worked in western Europe on behalf of ORT.
